Lila B. Design is an independent floral and garden design firm based in San Francisco that makes beautiful statements with living things in a sustainable way. Creating thoughtful environments with greenery and flowers that speak to you, is our mission. We specialize in listening and working with clients to capture each unique aesthetic and mood, regardless of whether it is whimsical, traditional, edgy, avant garde, or somewhere uncharted and in between. We have made it our business since January of 2007 to bring the celebration to your events,
the artistry to your photographic styling, and the serenity to your interiors and gardens with the finest in high quality and local plants and flowers.
We are a certified San Francisco Green Business which means we have proven dedication to conserving resources and preventing pollution while working to create with repurposed, organic, and sustainably harvested materials. Local is an idea we take very seriously, and many of our flowers are grown in our own flourishing parking lot garden. Using long lasting flowers that will enliven your occasion and live on to remind you about it is what we specialize in. And the extras? We take great joy in brightening up senior centers and local clinics with our leftover blossoms.

Baylor Chapman Creating Lila B. Design in 2007, Baylor brings over ten years of experience in garden and floral design complimented by professional experience in business and customer service to the San Francisco Bay Area. Leaving life on a rural farm in the Midwest for a degree in the Social Sciences and work in the nonprofit realm, Baylor honored her first love of working with plants and flowers and joined a talented team of gardener's on a sustainable estate while completing the UC Berkeley Extension Garden Design Program. And since? Well let's just say she has never looked back! Baylor is committed to cultivating unique and inspiring aesthetics, all the while sustaining her dedication to creating and improving spaces by cultivating a cornucopia of fantastic living things indoors and out. When she is not knee deep in flowers in our studio and listening to clients and translating ideas to designs, you can find Baylor scouring wholesale nursery's, seeking exciting plants to share. Baylor is perpetually invested in the process of envisioning things in new way- using relationship and circumstance to showcase the spectacular nature of both the ordinary and extraordinary. She is very thankful for the talented team of people who have come together to create Lila B. Design. |

Anna Hoffman Dazzling Lila B. Design with a beautiful smile and an incredible gift for floral designs that are both whimsical and refined, is Anna. With ten years of experience working with flowers, Anna’s talent has brought her from her start with Open Air Flowers, Loop Event Arts, and Fiori to London where she assisted one of the most innovative florists in the world, Paula Pryke. On the forefront of fashionable floristry, Anna has a cultivated eye for visually striking and yet naturally textured arrangements- she is our very own Queen of Rustic Elegance. Anna is terrifically accomplished at creating wonders with lot garden grown foliage and flowers that allow her to add a signature touch to her floral designs. We could not ask for a more experienced and fun addition to our studio! |
Our Studio
The home of Lila B. Design is on a stylishly appropriated loading dock in a beautiful old industrial building called Workspace in San Francisco's sunny Mission District. Workspace is a 37,000 sq-ft arts facility located on the west side of Folsom Street between 17th and 18th Streets that houses approximately 65 artists working in diverse mediums. When we are out and about the shop front is neatly concealed by a rolling door that completely opens to reveal the studio when we are busy creating. The unique space allows for great conviviality with our community- please wander by, look for the Lila B. sign and say hello the next time you are in the neighborhood.
Our Lot Garden
Providing inspiring reprieve amidst the busy industry of San Francisco’s Dogpatch neighborhood, you will find Lila B. Design’s lot garden. We integrate city grown flowers and plants into many of our projects, offering striking centerpieces and floral gestures that give a new meaning to the idea of local. At the lot garden we care for many of the plants and flowers we use from delicate seedlings to fully formed blossoms. Stop by the studio for a look through the lot garden catalogue and you can plan your event around what will be local in three months. What is more, if we are not growing it yet and you need it, we will be happy to plant it! We consider ourselves quite blessed to work in such a unique nursery where sunflowers sneak smiles to the car repair shop next door, flourishing vines hug the chain-link fence, and flowers and vegetables brighten the street.
We are proud to be an official San Francisco Green Business!
