Lila B. Design is an independent floral and garden design firm based in San Francisco. Our mission is to create beautiful environments with greenery and flowers that speak to you. Founder Baylor Chapman is committed to listening to and working with her clients to capture each one's unique style, whether whimsical, edgy, traditional, or avant-garde. And we're equally adept working indoors and out, producing everything from simple centerpieces to elaborate event designs to gardens and window boxes.

We use local materials whenever possible, with a focus on organically grown products. We place an emphasis on sustainability, and we love to highlight the connection between food and flowers in our designs.

We hope Lila B. Design will have an opportunity to help you create an atmosphere in your home, venue, or garden that thrills you.

Baylor Chapman bio
Chapman has a background in social sciences and business, plus more than seven years of training and hands-on experience in garden and floral design. She left the world of corporate enterprise in 2002 officially shifting her love of gardening from a sideline hobby to a professional pursuit. She designed and gardened on an eco-friendly, wonderfully creative, private estate while completing UC Berkeley Extension's garden design program. In 2007 she established Lila B. Design.

Gifted with a keen eye for color and resourceful hands that make magic out of found items, Sophie has been an indispensable part of Lila B. Design since shortly after it was created.  Sophie manages our lot garden- ensuring it is bursting with city-grown goodness and as the talented house photographer, composes a vivid record of our growing things and fanciful arrangements.  With an M.F.A. in Painting and an education in the fine arts that has taken her from Europe and New York to San Francisco, Sophie embodies cultivated artistic sensitivity with a tape measure on her hip: a combination that lends itself to tackling the most challenging floral and garden design projects with ease. Sophie delights in spending moments in the garden where a perfect moment could involve munching on green, leafy escerole as she discovers fresh, new shoots that have sprouted, all the while enjoying the scents of lavender, rosemary, and thyme.

Lila B. Design has started the new year with our best foot forward… and yes it is totally-unmistakably GREEN!
